Dragonscale Shawl
=================

Materials
---------

Yarn
^^^^

The classic choice for this would of course be lace-weight or fingering
yarn, but sport or DK weight worked with bulky needles may also be fun.

Needles
^^^^^^^

A pair of long straight needles or a circular, in a size significantly
bigger than the yarn.

Directions
----------

First triangle
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Long tail cast on a multiple of 6 :term:`sts`.

row 1 (:term:`ws`):
 :term:`k` until 3 :term:`sts` from the end of the row, turn work;
row 2: (:term:`rs`):
 :term:`k` 3, insert dark marker, :term:`k` all :term:`sts`;
row 3:
 :term:`k` until the dark marker, remove marker, turn work;
row 4n:
 :term:`k` 3, insert dark marker, :term:`k` 1, (:term:`k2t`
 :term:`yo`) until 4 :term:`sts` remain, :term:`k` 4;
row 4n + 1:
 :term:`k` until the dark marker, remove marker, turn work;
row 4n + 2:
 :term:`k` 3, insert dark marker, :term:`k` 1, (:term:`k2t`
 :term:`yo`) until 3 :term:`sts` remain, :term:`k` 4;
row 4n + 3:
 :term:`k` until the dark marker, remove marker, turn work;

Repeat the last four rows until you are left with 6 :term:`sts`; the
number of :term:`sts` on the fourth row will decrease by 6 at every
repeat.

row 4k (:term:`rs`):
 :term:`k2t`, :term:`yo`, :term:`k` 4;
row 4k + 1 (:term:`ws`):
 :term:`k` 3;
row 4k + 2:
 :term:`k` 3;
row 4k + 3:
 :term:`k` all :term:`sts` until the beginning of the row (the same
 number of :term:`sts` that were originally cast on;
row 4k + 4:
 :term:`k` all :term:`sts`;

Second triangle
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

row -1 (:term:`ws`):
 :term:`k` until 12 :term:`sts` from the end of the row, add a light
 marker, turn work;
row 0: (:term:`rs`):
 :term:`k` 3, insert dark marker, :term:`k` 1, (:term:`k2t`
 :term:`yo`) until 4 :term:`sts` remain, :term:`k` 4, add a dark
 marker, twisted purlwise cast-on 12 :term:`sts`;
row 1:
 :term:`k` 12, pass marker :term:`k` until next dark marker, remove
 marker, turn work;
row 2:
 :term:`k` 3, insert dark marker, :term:`k` 1, (:term:`k2t`
 :term:`yo`) until 1 :term:`sts` before the next dark marker,
 :term:`k` 1, remove marker, :term:`k` 12;
row 3:
 :term:`k` until the dark marker, remove marker, turn work;
row 4n:
 :term:`k` 3, insert dark marker, :term:`k` 1, (:term:`k2t`
